Temples in the modern day

Temples are the place of worship in Hinduism. India having a majority Hindu population, has a lot of temples. While temples are not unique to Hinduism, given the size of India, the country boasts millions of temples. Out of these, certain have special importance. Many people flock to these specific temples to get their share of blessings.
I recently visited one such temple. This was the Mahalaxmi temple in Kolhapur. Goddess Laxmi is the Hindu goddess of money or wealth. However, I forgot to pray for money, so I might not be becoming a millionaire anytime soon. The
visit to this beautiful temple made me realize a few things, that is what this article is going to be about. Stay with me and I promise you, there will definitely be food for thought.
Location of a temple
In ancient times temples were built in specific places. There was logical thinking behind their placing. Often, they would be placed away from the main town or village. This allowed for silence in the temple. If you think about it, some of the major temples like Kedarnath or Amarnath are located at high altitudes on mountains. They are difficult to reach.
